Stack Info

Overview

This stack was born from following this RapidWeaver forum discussion : https://forums.realmacsoftware.com/t/random-or-daily-image-stack/19295

  • You simply link the stack to any image in a folder on your server containing a selection of images.
  • The amount of images that can be in this folder is unlimited.
  • The images in this folder do not need to be named in any special way
  • When the page loads, the stack will pick one of the images from that folder at random to display.
  • If you point multiple dealer stacks on the same page at the same folder of images, dealer will never display the same image more than once on the same page. (Provided there are more images in the folder to choose from than dealer stacks in the page).
  • Dealer does not require a php page extension, though does require your server runs php.
  • Dealer has many features found in normal pro image stacks, like responsive alignment etc (see settings below for more details).

Settings

In this section, we have provided a comprehensive list of available settings, and a full description of what each of the settings does for the stack.

Remote Link
Fit My Video Tag

Set a link to any of the images in a remote folder containing a selection of images you would like dealer to randomly pick from in the published page.

Note: The folder we refer to in the video is a remote folder on your server, and not a folder on your local Mac.

Alternate Text

This is the text that a visually impaired person will hear read out to them, as a page reader reads through the page, and encounters your image.

On Click

Here you can select "do nothing".
Or
Link to another URL.
You can add a URL to direct the user to when the image is clicked.
Or
Open in Lightbox

Disable < Size

When on click open in lightbox is selected, you can set a screen size here, below which the lightbox will be disabled. After all there is little point in light boxing an image that will get no larger when on small screens.

On Hover

Here you can select "do nothing".
Or
Zoom the image effect.
Or
Fade in the image effect.

Max Width

If your image is larger than you'd like, you can choose to constrain its size.
You have options to constrain to different sizes at different screen sizes.

Alignment Buttons

Select how you'd like the image to align in it's parent container at various screen sizes.

Breakpoints

By default standard breakpoints are selected.
The breakpoints are what define what constitutes as a tablet and mobile screen size (the points at which the settings like alignment take effect.
You can choose to define your own custom breakpoints if you wish.

Edit Mode

We pay great attention to how we approach the editing interface of every stack, to ensure intuitive ease of use.

Dropping a Dealer stack into the page, we just display a placeholder image until yo link to your own remote image file in the stacks settings.

Normal installation.

Double click the un-zipped stack file (the one that looks like a piece of lego).
This will launch Rapidweaver if it was not already running, to automatically install the stack.
Rapidweaver handles the install process from here. Guiding you through a couple of simple clicks to complete the installation.
Re-start Rapidweaver to ensure the installation is complete.
You will now see the new stack in the Stacks plugin library.

Installation where more than one version of Rapidweaver is installed.

Sometimes if there is more than one version of Rapidweaver installed on your system, the double click method launches the wrong version of Rapidweaver to install the stack. To ensure the it is installed into the version you want to install to, you can, instead of double clicking the stack, just drag and drop it onto the appropriate Rapidweaver app icon in your dock at the bottom of your screen.

Live Demo

Here is the remote folder of images the demos below are pointing at.

Dealer will pick one of these images at random when this page loads. The folder could contain as many images as you like for Dealer to pick from.

Stacks Image 1423

So each image is a dealer stack, chosing an image at random from the remote folder above when this page loads. None of them will ever pick an image that has already been picked by another dealer stack on the same page.
